Individual Therapy Services at Be the Light Counseling Services, LLC provide children, teens, and adults with a calm, private space to work through stress, anxiety, low mood, and life transitions. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution‑focused strategies, and trauma‑informed care, Danielle Edwards, LPC, CPT, A.R.T., helps clients build insight and learn practical tools they can use right away.

Child Individual Counseling is designed around how your child learns and communicates. Using play, visual supports, and concrete examples, we help kids understand their feelings, improve behavior, and practice coping skills for worries, anger, or sadness. We collaborate with caregivers and, when appropriate, schools, so children experience consistent support.

Teen Individual Counseling gives adolescents a non‑judgmental place to talk about friendships, identity, school pressure, family tension, and social media stress. We balance privacy with parent communication, helping teens feel heard while still including caregivers in setting goals and supporting change at home.

Special Needs Individual Counseling centers the unique strengths and needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or learning differences. Sessions may involve more visual aids, sensory tools, structured routines, and concrete language. Our goal is to reduce anxiety, increase emotional expression, and support safer, more predictable behavior patterns.

Through CBT, clients learn to notice the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions, and to gently challenge patterns that keep them stuck. Trauma‑Focused Therapy offers a slower, safety‑first approach to difficult memories, with options to incorporate Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.) when appropriate for more targeted trauma work.

Across all forms of individual therapy, we move at the client's pace, respect cultural and family values, and focus on building practical skills, so progress inside the office can translate into more peaceful days and steadier relationships at home, school, and work.
